Cooper
Golden, Banff
Big Boss & Side-eye expert
Jean-François & Cooper
Owner & behavior master
Quebec & Ottawa, Banff
JF moved to Banff from Ottawa over ten years ago, following his wife Melanie and bringing them closer to his elderly parents.
Cooper came to them at a year old, and is a SASSY Black Lab Golden Retriever who is always thinking, master of the side eye and has a million dollar nose. Cooper is also the reason we are ALL here so please give Super-Coop a BIG thank you 🥰
JF’s favourite thing about the daycare is seeing the elderly dogs explore new scents and being stimulated by their curiosity. He also loves discovering personality traits of pups that even the owner might not be aware of!
One of his most memorable moments was when a pup came to sit straight in front of him and licked his nose as JF was having an allergic reaction - turns out the dog was a service dog that detects seizures!
Fun Fact: JF almost always wears a Superman or Batman t-shirt, especially under a suit…
Florence & Joey
Manager & bark specialist
Montreal, Canmore
Florence moved from Montreal four years ago and we’ve been very lucky to have her with us almost ever since!
A core memory for Florence is adopting her gorgeous dog Joey! Without Veronica’s, they might not have found each other in the most perfect way🤍 Joey is a Pyrenees Newfie mix and is the most gentle, gorgeous girl you could meet. She makes everyone fall in love with her warm brown eyes. She is so lucky to have found her new life with Florence 🥰 Ask to meet her next time you are in!
Florence loves slow early morning walks with her coffee and her Joey. She enjoys snowboarding, reading by the fireplace and cooking new and fun tasty meals.
Her favourite thing about working here is knowing all the pups’ quirks and personalities like the back of her hand - she can recognise any of our regulars’ barks and howls from the other side of the building! She also has an envious talent for nail clipping, through adapting her technique to suit each pup’s individual needs, using distraction or simply gaining their trust, her methods are something to be proud of.
Fun Fact: When Florence was young she was unfortunately attacked by a stray dog in Guadeloupe. For many, this may negatively affect their relationship with dogs in later life but for Florence it never diminished her love for puppies - just look at her now!
Jessica & Taura
Anxiety soother & puppy lover
Montreal, Banff
Jess is originally from Montreal and has lived in various places before settling in Banff. She adopted her gorgeous Husky pup, Taura, in 2020 and then picked cherries in the Okanagan before visiting Banff for the first time, falling in love with this beautiful mountain town and calling it home!
Jess has always wanted to work with dogs and used to sit and walk local dogs. One of her favourite things about the daycare is seeing the dogs match our excitement when we see them each day, and also how happy they are to see and play with one another!
Snuggles are Jess’ speciality - especially once the pups have got all of their playing crazies out of their system and are ready for some calm cuddles, belly rubs and ear scratches. She loves telling them how pretty and clean they are after a pamper!
Outside of work, Jess loves to travel and explore! She enjoys new foods, movies, yoga and meditation, wild swimming, snowboarding, hiking, dancing, drinking tea, playing board games, and of course snuggling with Taura🤍
Fun Fact: Jess and Taura have lived in three provinces (BC, AB and QC), and visited nine provinces together!
Billy
Spa specialist & doggie uncle
England, Canada & Banff
Billy moved from Bristol (South England) to Banff in September 2023 after seeing a friend living here and wanting to mix life up a little!
Growing up Billy had two little pups Rocky (Bichon) and Lily (Shitzu) - both the loves of his life! Sadly, Rocky passed away last summer from old age but a core memory for Billy is picking him up in Wales and driving home together in the back seat all those years ago. He was the first dog Billy ever had so he was a very excited kid.
Before working here, Billy thought some dogs were just a little quirky or funny but didn’t realize the extent of how different and unique each individual pup’s personality really is, which has been one of his favorite experiences.
His most memorable moments so far are when shy dogs warm up to him, for example little Jackson who takes a little longer to trust new people - especially men - and one day Billy was sitting on a box in the yard and all of a sudden Jackson hops up and sits right next to him for a while - which was a super special feeling for Billy!
Outside of work, Billy is a fan of all the mountain classics, such as snowboarding, skating, bike rides and everything in between! He also loves being lucky enough to bump into the local daycare pups out and about in town - and extra happy when they recognize him 🐶
Ella
Master of cuddles & doggie photographer
England, Canada & Banff
Ella moved to Canada with her girlfriend at the end of 2023 from Devon (South England) after falling in love with traveling.
Ella loved walking her friends’ dogs - living in a seaside town, the walks were never-ending! A favorite doggy memory from home was when her best friend’s dog had a litter of 12 and she got to spend time with all the adorable puppies! 🐶
Fun Fact: Ella never owned a dog of her own! She used to make slideshows and posters about the pros of owning a dog to try to convince her parents, but sadly it never happened. Everyone in Ella’s life knows how much this job means to her and are so happy to see her dreams come true!🥰
Ella loves seeing how differently all our daycare pups show love: some are more playful and wild, some just want a cuddle, and others want a scratch in that one perfect spot🤍
Her most memorable moments are when she first saw how much Nanook LOVES being blown in the face by the dryer and also becoming great companions with Baxter the golden - he follows her around everywhere and is such a loving boy!
Outside of work, Ella enjoys slow mornings with her journal and a coffee. Snowboarding, skateboarding, and biking are all classics, and her love for cooking has grown since living independently. She also loves to paint and hopefully one day will make a piece of art dedicated to this doggy daycare!
Kalee
Happiest dog in the pack
Ontario, Banff
In 2016 when Kalee moved out to Banff from Ontario, she planned to come out for one summer but fell in love with life out here!
Growing up Kalee had two dogs, a German Shepherd named Rocky and a Yellow Lab called Sadie. One day Kalee and her family came home to find the baking cupboard had been broken into…naturally, Rocky had gotten into the flour and was covered white from head to toe and Sadie had gotten into the brown sugar and was covered brown!
One of the funniest things that Kalee has seen at daycare was Yam sneaking up on her whilst she was washing the walls and very stealthily taking her hat off her head and skipping outside with it🤣
Kalee prides herself in being a ‘master-cuddler’ with the pups! Being around dogs has always brought so much happiness into her life, and so working here with us has only brought even more joy!
Outside of work, Kalee enjoys snowboarding, camping, hiking, yoga and pretty much doing anything outside! Kalee also works full-time serving in town but gets the most excited for work when coming to doggy daycare🥰
Kate & Bonnie
Cambridge, England & Banff
Kate moved to Banff at the end of 2022 from Cambridge, England and even though she's moved away a few times, she can't bear to leave for the doggies for too long and keeps coming back!
Back in England, Kate’s family have their adventure pup, Bonnie - a Border Collie who loves beach walks, swimming, agility, has an unhealthy obsession with balls and has even accompanied them on road trips across Europe!
One of Kate’s favourite things is seeing our pups run through the front door and straight into our arms for cuddles! Even though we likely saw them just yesterday🤣 Having the opportunity to form trusting bonds with each pup is one of the most fulfilling things she’s ever done!
Kate also loves skiing and *attempting* to snowboard, reading, going on long runs (just a summer activity whilst in Canada…) and hiking with friends.
Fun Fact? Kate was immediately hired on a Zoom call from the UK! Her enthusiasm and love for dogs was clear to see and win over Florence and JF’s trust for a great fit - we just can’t let her leave!
